MULTIMEDIA DESIGNER - FLASH

NewGround is seeking a talented Flash Multimedia Designer to join our team. The core focus of this position will be the design and development of animated graphic solutions to be created with the aid of Flash/Swish and other related technology. The designer will create animated graphics from concept to finished art for video displays, websites and interactive presentations. The designer will typically be working on a variety of projects across multiple clients at any given time; therefore, strong attention to detail and excellent organization and time management skills are critical.
The ideal candidate will have at least five years of professional animation design experience, preferably in an agency environment. Applicant must have artistic vision and drive to take projects from conception to completion, while maintaining a high level of accuracy, consistency and efficiency. This position requires a highly motivated and organized individual that is willing to diversify and learn new technologies.

QUALIFICATIONS
• Knowledge and experience with PC Based Macromedia Flash/Swish, Action Scripts, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Macromedia Dreamweaver, Adobe InDesign. (Macromedia Director and Adobe After Effects a plus.)
• Ability to create dynamic and scalable Flash animations.
• Knowledge of Compression techniques and file structuring practices.
• Experience creating dynamic Flash applications that use XML and server side technologies. Flash Remoting and Communication Server experience a plus.
• Expert knowledge of encoding audio and video.
• Knowledge to create or convert files for High Definition playback.
• Experience with back-end development technologies (PHP, MySQL, AJAX, Ruby on Rails, Javascript) is a plus, but not required. Knowledge of computer hardware and networking are also desirable.
• Strong visual style and thorough understanding of how typography, layout, color, images, and interactivity impact design.
• Ability to clearly communicate with staff and clients in a professional manner.
• Bachelor’s Degree in applicable area, Associate of Arts, or Associate of Applied Science Degree in Commercial Art or Graphic Design.
