SITE SUPERINTENDENT Company: 1st Financial Building Corporation of Canada Location: Hamilton, Ontario, Canada (Toronto area)
Site Superintendent required by 1st Financial Building Corporation of Canada, a full service, self sufficient affiliate of NewGround with offices in Chicago, IL; St. Louis, MO; San Francisco, CA; Atlanta, GA and Portsmouth, NH. NewGround is a leading international design / implementation firm serving the financial services industry. The company’s offering includes architectural design, construction management, branding strategies, print and multimedia merchandising, retail rollout campaigns and employee development programs.
RESPONSIBILITIES
• Candidates for this position must demonstrate the ability and experience necessary to manage the complete cycle of a design/build project, from site preparation to furniture installation. Responsibilities include bidding, contract negotiation, project and subcontractor scheduling, job cost projections, daily and weekly progress photos and documentation. This position requires full-time on-site supervision.
• Represent 1st Financial Building Corporation of Canada responsibly with honesty and integrity.
• Provide skillful drawing interpretation.
• Possess the knowledge and experience to ensure the project is constructed to code and according to plans and specifications.
• Coordinate the work timely and efficiently in a safe environment.
• Communicate effectively with other NewGround disciplines, the client, subcontractors and local building/licensing officials.
• Maintain an organized field office.
REQUIRED
• Minimum of five years of COMMERCIAL construction site supervision experience in GROUND-UP projects of $1 Million plus. RESIDENTIAL construction experience alone is NOT acceptable.
• Bank or Credit Union building experience is a Plus but not required.
• Excellent Written, Verbal and Presentation Communication skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, PowerPoint, Word and Excel and well as experience with MS Project and / or Spitfire.
• Must be organized, independent, client oriented, self-motivated, pay attention to detail and be professional in appearance.

• Experienced in reviewing and processing submittals and shop drawings.
• Excellent safety record.
• Experience with Estimating is a plus.
• Be able to provide photos of commercial projects completed.
• Provide references that include clients and contractors and/or past employers.
• College degree preferred.
Must be a Canadian citizen and live in Canada and be willing to relocate to the site in Hamilton, Ontario.
