Efficient, sustainable design incorporates branded environmental package

CHESTERFIELD, Mo., August 31, 2021–NewGround, a St. Louis-based innovative architecture, design, and
project management firm, recently celebrated the completion of Fort Sill Federal Credit Union’s (FCU) new headquarters facility in Lawton, Oklahoma.
Complete with a full-service branch inside, the new two-story 26,760 square foot headquarters building features a training room, community room, break room, mother’s room, and patio allowing for multiple seating options and flexibility to convert spaces into one or two separate rooms. The second-floor houses breakout spaces, workstations, quiet rooms, an executive waiting area, a lobby lounge, and a boardroom.
Standout design features include a blue patterned wall behind the teller line, accompanied by unique hanging pendant lighting. Focal walls surrounding Fort Sill FCU’s core values bring each core value to life. Coordinating unique and distinctive branded colors, the color palette, fabric, and finishes are purposely neutral, allowing the upstairs core value walls and branch feature wall to be showcased. Flooring selections highlight the member journey, leading visitors to where they need to go.
Health and safety needs are addressed through contactless, high-efficiency water fixtures, toilets, and faucets, hand sanitizer dispensers, abrasive walk-off carpet in vestibules, and low-maintenance interior finishes. 95% of the interior finishes have zero to low volatile organic compound (VOC) emissions.
NewGround provided design, project management, and environmental design services for this new space. Using local building materials whenever possible, the facility integrates high-efficiency glass on all exterior windows, window shades, upgraded HVAC system, sound masking system, and high-efficiency LED lighting with occupancy sensors, enhancing operational efficiency and sustainability.
